CHAP is a brokering agent for services and therefore does not employ people to provide in home support services to clients. It brokers services on behalf of the client with appropriately qualified and skilled Independent Contractors through individual client Contracts for Service.
CHAP is continually seeking skilled, reliable, honest and trustworthy Independent Contractors.
Relevant knowledge and qualifications are dependent on the service being provided eg. Personal Care or Respite requires TAFE Certificate 3 in Community Services or the equivalent.
Other skills may include Senior First Aid Certificate, Manual Handling, Infection Control and OH&S.
When you make an appointment to discuss registering as an independent contractor, you will be required to complete a Registration Details form and will be asked to bring with you or subsequently provide:
Your ABN
A police check (no more than 3 years old)
Resume / Business history
Contact details of two current referees (not written references)
Evidence of qualifications, certificates, current registrations e.g. First Aid Certificate
Driver's Licence
Car Insurance and Registration
Bank details (to facilitate payment by direct debit).
CHAP is always interested in registering persons who are multi-skilled, and/or have had previous experience in a community service provision or caring role. Prospective contractors are subject to a Police check.
